Bardowick is certainly worth exploring on foot…
… Just a stone’s throw from the Ilmenau River is the Nikolaihof. It was first mentioned in documents in 1251 as a “hospice for the poor and the sick”. From here it is a short walk to the Bardowicker Dom (cathedral). To this day it still houses treasures dating from the 14th century. Just a few minutes away on foot, in Mühlenstraße, is the old windmill. Visitors can buy flour and many other local products in the mill’s shop. The Mill Café wins over visitors with its stylish and historic ambience.
